Take Action on Your Dreams Before Time Slips Away

How many more years will pass before you make the change you've been longing for?

Hi mommas! It’s Mental Health Advocate Jas, here to hopefully push you to call in all of the positive and healthy changes your life and nervous system have been eagerly asking for.

I know that most of us, myself included, have spent the last few years in survival mode just trying to get to the next day. As moms, most of our personal time has been stripped away due to the demands of parenting and the needs of our babies. It takes an extreme toll on our mental health, as well as other aspects of our overall health and well-being. It’s easy to lose track of time, especially as our little ones grow right before our eyes. That is proof that time waits for….no one. With that being said, I hope that this year you will carve out some time to chase after the goals you’ve longed for.

For me, that means being more intentional about what I want to do with my life.

It means asking myself questions, such as:

  • How do I want to feel?

  • What do I want to accomplish?

  • Where do I want to be?

  • Who do I want around me?

Keep in mind, this can be something as little as wanting to dedicate 5 minutes a day to self-care, or even just picking up a new skill or hobby! It can even be an internal practice, like being more mindful or setting boundaries within your relationships.

"In 2025, I hope that you will remember that outside of motherhood, you are still a person deserving of tenderness and support."

We all know the typical saying, “You cannot pour from an empty cup,” right?

I think this is the year we must apply this quote to take action. How can we do this? Well, it just takes one step, with the first one being to identify exactly what you are looking to do. The rest is about showing up for yourself. You won’t want to do this every day, but as they say, it takes 66 days to form a habit. We dedicate 365 to serving our parental and societal responsibilities, can you dedicate 66 towards yourself?

The 21/90 rule is a theory that claims that if you do something for 21 days straight, it’ll become a habit, and once you’ve reached 90, it becomes a permanent lifestyle. Many have used or tried this theory as the framework for positive change.
