Womanhood Wednesday Spotlight: Sandra Moncada

This week, our Womanhood Wednesday spotlight shines on Sandra Moncada. A whose life is rooted in justice, healing, and intergenerational love. A Social Worker, Guided by Her Ancestors, Co-conspirator, Cycle Breaker, Mama of 3, and the Love of His Life, Sandra carries her heritage, values, and unwavering hope into every space she enters.

The proud descendant of warriors and healers from the lands now known as Peru, Sandra carries the resilience and joy of her ancestors in her heart and soul. Guided by the sun (Inti) and the earth (Pachamama), she moves through life with intuition as her healing power. At home, she is a devoted mother to three beautiful children and wife to a medicine man and old soul. Her existence is deeply rooted in family — her reason, her grounding, and her light.

Sandra’s por qué — her reason for all she does — is grounded in a vision of justice, healing, and collective care that stretches far beyond her own lifetime. She believes in helping people connect more deeply with truth through the power of shared stories and wisdom. For her, ideas should be bridges, not walls, and the knowledge we pass on today should make tomorrow more humane, equitable, and full of possibility.

When asked what womanhood means to her, Sandra describes it as birth, joy, and radical hope — a quilt woven with resilience, tenderness, and transformation. It’s the ability to hold histories and futures at the same time, shaping them with care, courage, and creativity. To her, womanhood is not confined to a single role but is a flourishing of many ways to be and to belong — to oneself and to humanity.

Sandra’s message to other women is as timeless as it is powerful: “Tap into and honor your intuition — trust the process.” She sees intuition not as a faint whisper to be ignored, but as a gift that speaks volumes, guiding us toward the life meant for us. It’s a truth she lives by, reflected in her personal affirmation:

“In the ether I found calm, not by escaping it but by remembering who I am.” – sm

For Sandra, legacy is not about accolades but about how she shows up for others. She hopes to be remembered for her compassion, her deep empathy, and her unwavering connection to her roots. She wants her life to honor her elders, her abuelitas and abuelitos, and to reflect her commitment to unlearning and relearning so she can remain attuned to her community. Above all, she wants to be remembered as a woman who carried radical hope and believed in a just, communal society.

Sandra Moncada is living proof that womanhood is a tapestry — stitched with ancestry, purpose, courage, and love. Through her work, her family, and her dedication to justice, she continues to create ripples that will touch generations to come. We are proud to have someone like her in our community, and this is exactly what Womanhood Wednesday is all about — celebrating the women who inspire, uplift, and lead with heart.
